Title : Relationship of achievement goals with learning strategies and test anxiety

The current paper was done with the aim of investigating the relationship between achievement goals with learning strategies and test anxiety among the third grade male high school students in Sanandaj. The statistical population of this research was consisted of all the third grade male high school students in Sanandaj. The statistical sample included 250 third grade male students who were chosen by cluster sampling method. Tools for collecting data were the Elliot and McGregor's achievement goals orientation inventory (2001), learning strategies inventory and test anxiety inventory (TAI). Findings revealed that there was a significant relationship between t he type of students' achievement goals orientation and adoption of learning strategies. In other words, the mastery-approach goal orientation was negatively and significantly correlated with the learning strategy of rehearsal and review while it was found to be positively and significantly correlated with learning strategies of elaboration, organization, planning, control and monitoring and regulation. The mastery-avoidance goal orientation was found to be positively and significantly correlated with learning strategies of rehearsal and review while it had a negative and significant correlation with learning strategies of planning, control, monitoring and regulation whereas no correlation was found between the mastery-avoidance goal and the elaboration strategy. Also, there was a positive and significant relationship between test anxiety and learning strategies of rehearsal and review, and elaboration, while a negative and significant relationship was observed between test anxieties and learning strategies of organization, planning, control, monitoring and regulation.
