On the comparison of attachment styles among people with borderline personality, antisocial disorders and healthy people without personality disorders

Abstract
On the comparison of attchemnt styles among people with borderline personality, antisocial disorders and healthy people without personality disorders. The current research is a causal-comparative research. The statistical population consists of all people who referred to the Psychiatry clinic of Shafa in Rasht in the last four months of 2014 and in spring and summer of 2015 due to psychiatric disorders and psychological problems. The number of sample people was considered 30 people for each group of total 90 people who were selected through in access from among the outpatient people referring to Psychiatry clinic of Rasht's Shafa Psychiatry Center, people affected with borderline and anti-social personality disorders and those not having personality disorders via using Millon's Clinical Multi-axial Inventory. Thereafter, type of their attachment was determined by Hazen and Shaver's Attachment Scale. Data obtained from the questionnaires were analyzed through Multivariate Variance Analysis (MANOVA). Results obtained indicated that normal people possess higher secure attachment level compared to two groups of people with anti-social and borderline personality disorders which this level is statistically significant. Also, people affected with antisocial personality disorders were found to be holding insecure attachment style level compared to normal people whereas people affected with borderline personality disorder, compared to normal people demonstrated higher ambivalent attachment styles. Conclusion: There is a difference among the three groups as regards three styles of secure, insecure and ambivalent styles. It appears that attachment styles have determining roles in formation of personality disorders and overall policies need to take training of children seriously
